Dear Jack

This post was written to wish my fiancé, Jack, a very happy birthday.

Dear Jack,

Before I met you, I was in a really dark place. I was bouncing around different family and friend’s houses, without a home of my own. I was checking in and out of hospitals. I had an ex-boyfriend that broke my heart in two by threatening to sue me for my company. I had no job, and was failing at bringing my dream of a website to life.

Then I met you, and everything changed. You were by my side every day. When I was in the hospital for a month, you would text me consistently. When I broke my elbow and shoulder in Hawaii, you flew out to come pick me up. You washed my hair and nursed me back to health, taking me each way to physical therapy and doctors appointments. You opened your home to me.

Because of you, I am following my dreams again. I am grateful for the love and support you provide me with. Thank you for loving me, and thanks for being the backbone of our little family of two. You’re a great man. I hope you have a really happy birthday, and I can’t wait to celebrate with you.
